9:00 A.M. Gates Open
12:00 P.M. Opening Ceremonies
The National Anthem will be performed by Haley Katherine Davis of Beaufort, SC. At the young age of 11 she made her first national tv debut on "Showtime at the Apollo" in New York City and won, then went on to sing at major sporting events such as, the US Tennis Open in NYC, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Atlanta Falcons just to name a few. She also has been singing for the Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC since the age of 13. She has made the final rounds for multiple reality singing tv shows but the most accomplished was American Idol season 13 which she made the top 15 contestants. Haley just recently attended the Presidential Inauguration in Washington DC where Donald Trump was sworn in as President after she had spent the prior 16 months traveling with the campaign team as Donald Trumps National Anthem singer.
The colors of the United States and the state of South Carolina will be presented by the Baptist Hill Middle High School JROTC of Hollywood, SC.
12:10 P.M. Hat Contest & Best Dressed Contest
There will be a Hat Contest for the women and a Best Dressed Contest for the men. The Hat Contest is sponsored by Adams Outdoor and the Best Dressed Contest is sponsored by iHeartMedia. Judging will take place on the track near the finish line directly following the singing of the National Anthem. The winners of both will be announced around 12:15 P.M.
1:00 P.M. First Race - The Dixie Cup Presented by The Knox Family
(Maiden Claiming Hurdle) - Purse $15,000. Hurdle. For Maidens, Three Years Old and Upward. Three-year-olds, 138 lbs.; four-year-olds, 150 lbs.; older, 156 lbs. Claiming price $15,000. For each $2,500 to $10,000, allowed 4 lbs. Entry fee $75; $75 additional if not scratched on time Wednesday; with $150 additional to start. Two Miles and One Quarter over National Fences.
1:15 P.M. Best Tailgate Contest
There will be a Tailgate Contest for all those who have purchased a tailgate spot. It will be judged by Erin Kienzle of Lowcountry Live. The winner will be annouced after the first race around 1:15 P.M.
1:40 P.M. Second Race - Presented by Woodhouse Day Spa
(Maiden Hurdle) - Purse $25,000. Hurdle. For Maidens, Three Years Old and Upward. Three-years-olds, 136 lbs.; four-year-olds, 148 lbs.; older, 154 lbs. Entry fee $125; $125 additional if not scratched on time Wednesday; with $250 additional to start. Two Miles and One Quater over National Fences.
2:20 P.M. Third Race - Presented by Excel Apparatus
(Three Year Old Hurdle) - Purse $25,000. Hurdle Handicap. For Three Year Olds. 148 lbs. Winners, other than claiming, 4 lbs. extra for each race won. Entry fee $125; $125 additional if not scratched on time Wednesday; with $250 additonal to start. Two Miles and One Quarter over National Fences.
3:00 P.M. Fourth Race - The Ann Barker Memorial, SOTA Apprentice Rider Race
(Allowance Hurdle) - Purse $10,000. For Four Year Olds and Upward which have never won an open hurdle stakes. To be ridden by prentice riders. Ratings weights with the highest rated horse assigned 160 lbs. with all other weights adjust accordingly based on current ratings. Entry fee $50; $50 additional if not scratched on time Wednesday with $100 additional to start. Two Miles and One Quarter over National Fences.
3:40 P.M. Fifth Race - Presented by Snyder The Event Rental Company
(Training Flat) For Three Year Olds and Upward. Three-year-olds, 145 lbs.; older 150 lbs. Maidens allowed 5 lbs. Jump riders are eligible for applicable jump apprentice allowances. Entry fee $50. The result of this race does not count toward a horse's offical record. A $500 award to the owner and the trainer of the winner to be paid by the meet. One Mile and One Half on the Turf.
